Welcome to the home of the Colon Police Department website, we hope
you find it useful.
Under the main menu on the left side of the screen are
useful links: - The "Local Business Directory" lists local businesses. If you
place the pointer of your mouse over the business and click, it will take
you to their website.
- You can find an email list for the department in the "Directory".
- The "Village Map" is a map of the Colon area.
- The Village website link, on the right side
of the main page, also has useful community information.
The website will
be updated with important information such as road work, event changes
and other community activities.
The police department consists of a working chief, the sergeant who is
assigned as the school resource officer, a full time officer, three part
time officers and two reserve officers. We patrol by car, bicycle and on
foot in our effort to provide the best possible service to our community.
The Colon Police Department is community policing based. We are very
active with our school system and the various community events that take
place throughout the year.
Our goal is to prevent crime and to protect life and property while
partnering with the community to make Colon a great place to live and
visit. The Colon Police Department works closely with the St. Joseph
County Sheriff Department, the Michigan State Police, the South West
Enforcement Team, the Mendon Police Department and the Colon Fire and
Rescue Department to provide the best service possible to our community.
Thank you for visiting our website.
Mark A. Brinkert
Chief of Police.
